Fun fact about me:
I’m a true advocate for taking people to court. If you were to ever tell me about how somebody wronged you, one of the first things that I suggest is to take them straight to court. Because there’s no way on God’s green earth people should keep letting people get over on them.
So when I was wronged, I had to take my own advice. A whole corporation wronged me and lied on me, and I took them straight to court.
This was an easy decision. But it was also one that had me in an array of emotions. Because it was little ole me vs. a Fortune 500 Corporation (literally). I had no attorney. I had no witnesses. I had no substantial evidence. No family or close friends even gave me sound advice or encouragement. All I knew was that those people really tried to play me and that I wasn’t going to take it lying down.
All I had was one sister from another mister who encouraged me, fasted on my behalf, and prayed for me.
All I had was God backing me and all of heaven on my side.
So I was all set!!!
Here are a couple of tactics that I used to prepare for my trial.
1. Prayer
At first, I was so discouraged that I didn’t even have the words to say in prayer. But thank God for the Holy Spirit. I spent time praying in tongues because I had nothing to say in English. Thank God for my “sister” who immediately listed off about 7 prayer points the very moment that I told her about the trial. So I had something to work with. And from those points, I continued to pray strategically. I won’t go into all of the prayer points, but I took note of prayer points and found aligning scriptures. Why? Because we are to pray God’s word because God’s word reveals His will.
“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”
— I John 5:14–15 (KJV)
2. Faith
I made sure to keep my faith high. I only talked to people who would increase my faith. After the first 2 days of knowing about this, I realized that I could only afford to mention this situation to people who would increase my faith. Good news only. Faith talk only. Encouragers only. No drama. No discouragement. No “this happened to John Doe and it didn’t work out for him.” I couldn’t afford to talk to anyone who would not build my faith. So this required me to stay silent most of the time. And my silence kept my faith lifted.
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
— Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)
3. Dancing
Last week, I heard God tell me to dance every day. So every day since hearing that instruction, I danced for a solid hour each day. I danced and danced and danced. I danced fast. I danced slowly. I danced to African worship (because, of course, Nigerian worship is my FAVORITE). I danced to American worship. I danced until I was out of breath, and kept dancing. I danced and clapped and shook my tambourine and hollered and prayed. Dancing is a form of praise. And as I praised and danced, I declared that the Lord would set ambushments against my adversaries. As I praised and danced, I declared that those against me would turn their “swords” on each other, leaving me to pick up the spoils.
When they began singing and praising, the Lord set ambushes against the sons of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; so they were struck down [in defeat]. 23 For the sons of Ammon and Moab [suspecting betrayal] rose up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir, completely destroying them; and when they had finished with the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another.
“When [the men of] Judah came to the lookout tower of the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude, and behold, they were dead bodies lying on the ground, and no one had escaped. When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take their spoil, they found much among them, including equipment, garments, and valuable things which they took for themselves, more than they could carry away; so much that they spent three days gathering the spoil.”
— II Chronicles 20:22–25 (AMP)
4. Pleading My Case
I was looking for a planner in my huge box of books and I found a book called, “Plead Your Case” by Kenneth E. Hagen. It’s 32 pages of straight 🔥. I literally picked it up randomly to read it. And my goodness… it was gooooood to me!!!!!! I won’t go into details about the book, but I urge you to read it. Long story short, the book walked me through how to enter the courtroom of heaven and plead my case to God. God and I had 2 strong conversations about this trial, and I pled my case both times. Because “haven’t I fought enough?” “Are you not a just God?” “Don’t you hold the heart of the king in your hand with the ability to turn it as you please?” “Is not your word true?” And I continued to plead my case to God in His courtroom. After we were done, I left it alone with the faith that my case was settled in heaven.
“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”
— Isaiah 1:18 (KJV)
“Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.”
— Isaiah 43:26 (KJV)
What I saw as a result:
Ease
Speed
An Effortless Victory
I got to court, and the other party didn’t even show up!!! The judge told me, “According to the law of this court and based on the Mississippi Supreme Court, I cannot hear your testimony. By law, I cannot hear your side because the other party decided not to show up. So you have nothing to prove. I will make my ruling based on their testimony (which did not exist). I’ll take my time on this matter and you’ll hear from me within 10 to 15 days with my ruling.
But before the end of the business day, I got an alert that the company was getting ready to release my funds!!!
My admonishment for you is to take my 4 warfare tactics and apply them to your life. And buy “Plead Your Case” by Kenneth E. Hagen today! It’s literally $1.95 on Amazon. No matter how big, as long as you’re in right standing with God, you’ll come out victorious. And yes, I’m still dancing every single day. Dancing is an extremely powerful warfare tactic. But that’s a lesson for another day.
Through that book, God will give you great revelations about pleading your case. Here’s what I heard after I finished with my case:
“Because you pleaded your case in the heavenly courts, there was no need to plead your case in the earthly courts.”
